Aftercare

Aftercare is a crucial aspect of ensuring a smooth and successful tattoo healing process. Following the guidelines provided by your tattoo artist is essential for maintaining the integrity and vibrancy of your new ink. By being diligent with aftercare practices, you contribute to the optimal healing of your tattoo and the preservation of its long-term beauty.

CLING FILM

Initial care

Leave the cling film on until the next morning, or as instructed by your artist.

Immediate Cleaning After Wrap Removal:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before touching your new tattoo.

  • After cling film removal, wash the tattoo with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.

  • Gently use your fingertips to remove vaseline, plasma, and excess ink without using anything abrasive.

Drying and Daily Care:

  • Rinse the tattoo and pat dry with a disposable paper towel or allow it to air dry.

  • Wash the tattoo twice a day (morning and night) until fully healed, without over-washing. Regular showering is acceptable, but avoid submerging the tattoo in water for an extended time, including baths and swimming.

Post-Cleaning Moisturization:

  • Over the next few days, as the tattoo becomes flaky, dry, and tight, use vaseline sparingly 1-2 times a day.

  • Rub the vaseline in until fully absorbed, avoiding over-moisturizing.

  • If scabs form, leave them; they will naturally fall off. Avoid picking or scratching the area.

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing over the tattooed area.

SECOND SKIN

Initial care

Allow the second skin to remain on your tattoo for 1-3 days. During this time, you can continue with your regular activities, including showering.

If the tattoo is still red on the next day remove the second skin.

  • The most straightforward method for removal is in a warm shower.

  • Following that, promptly cleanse it using a mild soap such as Sebamed or Unicura
