1. Will I be able to tattoo after completing the course?
Yes, you’ll be qualified to tattoo upon finishing the course! However, keep in mind that you will still be considered a very junior tattoo artist. You’ll have the foundational skills but will need more practice and perhaps additional training in various techniques to fully develop your artistry.
2. What if I can’t attend a class?
Please review our cancellation policy. Attendance is crucial for building hands-on experience, and each class builds on the previous one.
3. Do I need to bring any supplies?
No, we’ve got you covered! All necessary tools and materials will be provided during the course.
4. Can I bring a friend along to watch?
No, unfortunately, we cannot accommodate extra visitors in the class. If your friend would like to attend, they can book a spot as a participant.
5. Can I film the workshop?
Filming isn’t allowed during the workshop. However, you will receive all necessary workshop materials after your lesson, so there’s no need to film or take extensive notes.
6. Is parking available nearby?
Yes! There’s a PARKBEE parking lot on the same street, which is more affordable than street parking in the area.
7. Is food or drink provided?
We offer coffee, tea, and water. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks if you’d like, but please avoid bringing a full meal as the course runs for only two hours.
8. Can I tattoo on my friend during the course?
Yes! You’re encouraged to bring your own model for the final lesson, where you’ll get the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a real tattoo session.
9. What if I have a holiday planned during the course?
The first six lessons are scheduled on fixed dates, so it’s best not to miss those. However, the last two lessons offer more flexibility for rescheduling if necessary.
10. How many people are in each class?
Each class is limited to 3-4 students. This allows for more personalized guidance and hands-on experience with the instructor.
11. Is previous experience required to join the course?
No prior experience is necessary! Our course is designed to accommodate beginners and provide you with the foundational skills you need to start tattooing.
12. Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course?
Yes, upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate recognizing your achievement.
13. Are there any health or safety requirements?
Yes, we follow strict hygiene and safety protocols. You will receive guidance on all necessary health precautions and safe practices during your training. If you have any specific health conditions, please inform us in advance.
14. What if I feel nervous about tattooing on skin?
That’s completely normal! In early sessions, you’ll practice on synthetic skin to build your confidence and skills. By the time you move to tattooing on real skin, you’ll feel more prepared.
15. Are the lessons in Dutch or English?
The lessons are conducted in either Dutch or English, depending on the teacher and the students in the workshop:
-
Julia: All her classes are conducted exclusively in English.
-
Sterre: She can teach in both Dutch and English, and the language of the class depends on the students. If there is a student who does not speak Dutch, the workshop will be conducted in English.
So, if you're with Julia, the class will always be in English, and if you're with Sterre, it adjusts based on the group's language needs.
